There is no person in the world who has not had an inflammation or infectious diseases. Today treatment of such states is usually comes only to course of antibiotics. It is not uncommon for the disease to become chronic after antibiotic therapy. Therefore, treatment requires a more global approach.
It should be kept in mind that the pathogens that cause inflammatory processes are the same inhabitants of the Earth as people, they evolved together with Homo sapiens. If bacteria and viruses adapted to the environment, then people turned their bodies into a comfortable environment for these pathogens. Intersections of habitats cause pathological conditions.
If the slightest inflammation is started and is not treated, over time it will become chronic and manifest itself in unexpected ways in the digestive tract, lymphatic system, blood, urine-sexual system, and skin. Therefore, the first step in the treatment and the prevention of infectious diseases should be aimed at strengthening the immune system, mobilizing it to fight agents, and removing matter from the body that creates the ground for the reproduction of pathogenic bacteria. (Such matter is accumulated mucus in the bronchi and lungs – what in Ayurveda is called an excess of Kapkha, acidification of the body – an excess of Pitta, toxic substances-an excess of cotton Vata.) Ayurvedic methods of treatment are valuable because they allow you to eliminate inflammatory factors: mucus, acid overage, substances that cause an immune response, etc.
Respiratory diseases are the most common infectious. WHO gives the following definition:
“Respiratory diseases are diseases that affect the respiratory tract, including the nasal passages, bronchi, and lungs. They range from acute infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis to chronic states such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.”
The provoking factor in their progressing is often mucus overage. The reasons for its accumulation are poor digestion, the use of mucus-forming foods (milk, chocolate, fancy cakes, meals late at night). If it happens for a long time, any substance can cause a primary immune response.
There are a number of signs that indicate a mucus overage in the body – a person has a covered tongue, an unpleasant smell of the body and mouth, and chronic fungal diseases. Laryngitis, bronchitis, tracheitis, cough, body temperature changes, lymphadenopathy, weakness, headaches, insomnia, asthma-these diseases also indicate that the body has a mucus overage.
If we talk about treatment, for example, in the conditions of our medical institution, we combine two methods -herbal medicine and cleaning with using Panchakarma. For 30 years of existence of our phytolaboratory, a large number of anti-inflammatory drugs has been manufactured according to the recipes of Galen, Hippocrates, Avicenna, Charaka and other great doctors.
Elimination of mucus from the body consists of several stages: firstly, you need procedures that dilute it, separate it from the walls of the mucous membranes, and the next step is to eliminate it outside. The third stage is the strengthening of the fire (digestive and vital), which can burn through toxins that constantly pass the cycle of metabolism. The next step is to strengthen the immune barrier.
What is the danger of chronic inflammation? In that they destroy the integrity of the mucous membranes. For example, if you cut your skin and keep putting salt on it, it will naturally never heal. This example illustrates the mechanism of allergies: if you regularly irritate the mucous membrane, it is bared, and any factor can cause an inflammatory process.
There are a lot of substances in the environment – aggressive and non-aggressive in relation to the human body. The latter include pollen from plants, household dust, and animal hair containing proteins.
Ayurveda and TCM in this case are not looking for a substance that is allergic to, but answer the question – why? It is necessary to eliminate the root cause in time and treat it (strengthen the mucous membrane).
How many states, so many medicines! Let’s start with the fact that each person has features of the body’s work: if mucus overage occurs due to poor digestion, then the doctor will prescribe Chitrak, Lavangadi vati, Vidangadi vati, Lashunadi vati – these herbal medicines increase the fire of digestion, accelerate the” burning ” of mucus. If the disease is started, congestion occurs due to circulatory disorders, obesity, in this case, prescribe drugs aimed at improving blood circulation-Punarnava Kesaya Vati, Arjuna pilula, expiratory pills that promote expectoration, Karpooradi choornam.
If the patient’s mucous membranes are at the stage of destruction, protectors are necessary. In Ayurvedic medicine, Dhatu Paustik churna is used for this purpose – This is a medicine that strengthens all tissues, including the mucous membrane. Then you need to give the patient something that improves blood circulation – Brami vati, for example. In chronic inflammation, when a person has a fever and high temperature, the universal medicine is Mahasudarshan vati, pills with gentian (Gentiana) or with calcium. The uniqueness of the Ayurvedic approach is that each person can choose their own medicine.
Each disease has several stages of development. The first – when only began to manifest digestive disorders. At this stage, it is enough to follow a diet – limit the consumption of mucus-forming products, perform gymnastics and breathing exercises. When the mucus has accumulated and the person’s nature has changed, you need to medication taking.
In clinical manifestations of chronic states, diet and daily regimen are no longer sufficient. We need cleaning the body, treatment, and rehabilitation. When, for example, the mucous membrane is damaged, a complex of Rasayan therapy is necessary (nourishing and rejuvenation of tissues). As usual, the patient comes to the doctor at the last stage of the disease in the hope of getting a pill that will heal everything. This, unfortunately, does not happen. It is important to pay attention to the problem in time and prevent chronic forms progressing.
